MT Zoom - thanks to Ant White 20/02/2011
Getting ready for the start of the new season, after a hard winter's training. Been out ridng with Ant White, who runs the XC Racer shop. He is just launching the new range of MT Zoom products, probably the lightest in the world. Thanks to Ant for sorting me out with some finishing kit - see picture and check it out on his website: www.xcracer.com Add Comment Kona Oktoberfest 2010 19/10/2010
![]() It was great to be back at Ashton Court after my convincing single speed solo win in the Summer. We arrived on Friday afternoon and Sam from Singular had already set up camp. Our mixed single speed team consisted of Sam from Singular Cycles, Dave, Jessica and me. Up early the next day as the race started at 9.00 am. The weather was sunny but cold. Sam let me borrow his Reynolds carbon wheels for the race and I was also sporting a Singular skin suit for the first time – so the pressure was on! ![]() The first lap was going very well and I was running in 4th until the signs disappeared and there was no tape marking the course. So me and the people in 5th and 6th place took the wrong turn. We ended up ahead of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place somehow. We rolled into the finish straight together and waited for the 3 leaders to go through and informed the organisers of the bad signing on the course and the timing people adjusted our lap times accordingly. ![]() The Singular team ran smooth and the handovers went well. Dave’s penultimate lap was a quick 22 mins. I rode the next lap on Sam’s Pegasus and put in a 21.40 min lap. This ensured that Dave could put in another lap to take 2nd place (just one lap down from the Torq team). We stayed on the Saturday night despite the cold. Lots of beer, pretzels and good company. A big thanks to Shaggy who took us all on a guided ride around some of the local trails on Sunday. Thanks to Sam from Singular for organising the team. It was a pleasure to ride with and meet new folks. |
